November 28th - December 2nd

How are we seeing December already!? This year is flying by, and it is such a great year. I hope that everyone had a good vacation break. Only three more weeks until our Winter Break. Reminder that Twin Day is this Thursday, and Tuesday is our December birthday celebration.

This week we do not have reading menu or spelling menu. We will be having Reading Journal Entries. Students should read for 20 minutes and then write a summary using their reading journal chart.

This week we are having a review on Chapter 5 with multiplications of 0, 2, 5, and 10's. Starting Wednesday we will be moving to Chapter 6 and working with the rest of the times tables. Students should be working with flashcards and the times tables at home.

In Reading we will be working on Raising Dragons in our Basal reader. We will be working on drawing conclusions in our text as we read the story.

In Social Studies we will be working on Living Traditions with the four Regions of the California Indians. Students will be getting in to groups this week and working on gathering information in order to present to the class their findings. They will be working on knowing the differences and similarities between the two groups.
