What I am Thankful For

This week the students worked on what they were thankful for so I decided to do the same thing. I wanted to write a paragraph to share with them what I am looking for in a solid paragraph.

Green is main idea or topic sentence. Blue are my details. Red is my conclusion and ending sentence.

Reminder - December Birthdays

Upcoming Spirit Day

The week we return to school we will be having a spirt day. Thursday, December 1st we will be having Twin Day! Find a friend OR TWO to dress alike with for the day. It does not need to be common dress.

Break Time Assignments

Students will have off the week of November 21st - November 24th. We will be reporting back to school on Monday, November 28th.

I would like students to take this vacation time to spend with family. There will not be a project this vacation.

Students are encouraged to work on Lexia and Dream Box over the break. I will be keeping an eye on the Lexia and Dream Box usage over the break. It is very important that students continue to progress even when we are not in school.

Students are encouraged to read of the break from 20-30 minutes a night. A log of the title, author, and time read is helpful.

Students are encouraged to write a few details that they did over the break to help with some writing when we return to school. They can create a Thinking Map to help organize their writing before returning. A Circle map can be used to collect all the data, or they can create a Tree Map to help separate the activities they did.

Students are encouraged to work on their multiplication times tables over the break. They can use flashcards, or create their own.

Thank you again for attending the Fall Report Card conference. Hope you all have a relaxing and pleasant week off.

Class Dojo

Welcome to a new week Parents! Starting Wednesday to next Friday is Conference week and students will be out of school at 1:00 P.M. I will send a reminder notice home today with your date and time. If you can not make your appointment please let me know as soon as possible to reschedule.

This week we will start using our Class Dojo behavior system. I sent home notices this past Friday with instructions on how to log in to the class account. You will be able to check on your child's behavior and classroom progress through out the day.

Students will have a chance to earn points through out the day. They will earn points for having their homework, participating, being on task, teamwork, helping others, and working hard. They can also lose points for having no homework, off task, poor behavior, being disruptive, and not being a team player in group work, class, or at recess.

I will keep the points for the week and at the end of the week the winning group of four will get to have a prize. The prize is not determined at the moment. It will change weekly as well. The top person for the month will also win a prize.

Parents will need to log in to our class site at www.classdojo.com and enter the parent code that was given in on the paper. There you will be able to send messages, and keep watch.

Thank you!
