The students are currently working on Native Americans in our Social Studies Unit. They are all broken up into small groups based on their region of either Valley, Desert, Mountain, or Coast. In their groups they were able to select up to two topics from:
Art and Music
Beliefs and Customs
Folklore
Houses
Food
Clothing
Tools
Ways of Travel
Government: Then and Now
Economy
Gift Giving and Trade
Next Friday they will have to do a group presentation of each of these topics. They will need to have a paragraph about each of their topics, and a visual. Some suggestions of a visual were that they create a model of the tool, house, food, or clothing. As well as they could create a play, poster, or comic strip / picture book about their topic. Using pictures from the Internet is not allowed, but if they find something on line they can draw it themselves.
