September 19th - September 23rd

Monday: Welcome to another week of 3rd Grade. This week the students will NOT have spelling homework. We are finishing up Mulan and will start "The Chocolate Touch" next week. This novel unit will have new vocabulary and spelling words for the group. They will also be working on a reading project.

Tuesday: Today is the Mile RUN! Wear comfy shoes to run for your best time. Our class will also be going to the Book Fair. It is winding down, but we have one more chance to see all the great books that are being offered.

Wednesday: Today their rough draft paragraph for their science group project is due. We will edit an revise them to have them ready for Friday.

Thursday: It is a short day today for the students and they will be out at 1:00 o'clock.

Friday: The science group project is due today. The students will be working on presenting to the class, and it may take a few days for all eight groups. Next week there will be a small science quiz on habitats before we move into the next section.

WHAT'S HAPPENING IN THE CLASS THIS WEEK?

Students will start Chapter 2 in Number Sense: Addition and Subtraction
Students will learn about associative, commutative, and identity property of addition.
Students will continue to explore their topic for the science group project on animal habitats.
Students will create solid paragraphs filled with factual details.
