March 27th - March 31st

We are heading in to our last week of March and soon it will be Spring Break followed by SMARTER Balance testing. This week we will be reviewing our Chapter 10 Fractions in math. At the end of the week we will be having another quiz. They will be getting some fraction math games to work on at home to get them familiar with the concept again. Our practice test on Time on Friday had some low scores, and so we spent Friday working on some math games to help them spend more time with elapsed time, and working backwards. Working backwards in time has been challenging for the students.

MATH

Monday: Students will have a review on Chapter 12 time unit, and our test for it will be on Tuesday in order to give them more time to review and study.

Tuesday: Chapter 12 Test

Wednesday: Chapter 10 Review

Thursday: Chapter 10 Review

Friday: Chapter 10 Review and Quiz

SCIENCE

Students have been working on the solar system and last Friday they picked their planet/solar system section to do a project on. This week will be about collecting information and prewriting. They will be having to do a typed paper and present to the class with their partner. The sections include all 8 planets, the sun, the moon, the stars, and comets and meteors.

READING

In reading we are finishing up with Seal Surfer this week working on our vocabulary word, reading comprehension and fluency.

WRITING

Students continue to work on our informational text writing. They are working on creating strong table of contents, and making sure they are teaching the reader valuable information.

TYPING

Students continue to use Typing Club to work on their typing skills.

HOMEWORK
Students will have some math pages to work extra on either time or fractions this week.
Reading Journal is Monday -Thursday
Students can be working on Typing Club, DreamBox, or Lexia at home.
Science this week is a mixture of their reports and some workbook pages.
