March 6th - March 10th

Reminder that this Friday starts the Spring Conference week. From March 10th until March 17th the students will be going home at 1:00 every day. Not all parents will have a conference this time. I will be focusing on those students that I really need to meet with their parents to talk about their progress.


READING
We will continue to be using our Basal Reader this week with our story of Two Days in May. This story connects with our past Science Unit of animal habitats.

MATH
We will be continuing to be working in Chapter 10 in our math.

10.3 Using Fractions

Tuesday:
10.4 Comparing Fractions on the Number Line

Wednesday:
10.5 Finding Equivalent Fractions

Thursday:
10.6 Equivalent Fractions and the Number Line


SOCIAL STUDIES
We have finished up our Energy and Light section in Science and will now be working back in Social Studies. This section is called "Your Community over Time".

Monday: Lesson 1 - Who has come to your region?

Wednesday: Lesson 2 - How did early settlers affect your region's economy?

Friday: Lesson 3 - How have people helped places in your region grow?


WRITING
In writing we will be continuing to work on our Information Writing with what subject we are an expert in and create a booklet about it. The students will be working on this every day right after lunch. 

The students continue to work on their cursive in their cursive workbooks as well.


Class Supplies

The class is in need of some donations of copy paper, pencil, and tissues.
